Barefruit is a farmer-powered brand redefining the way India snacks. Founded by Varun Raheja, an engineer and changemaker, the brand was born from a simple yet powerful mission, to fight food waste, empower farmers, and bring fruits back into people’s lives in their purest form. During his engineering years, Varun witnessed firsthand how farmers suffered losses when their fresh produce went unsold and wasted. Determined to find a solution, he designed India’s first affordable solar dryers, offering farmers a clean, low-cost, and sustainable way to preserve their surplus harvests.

With his mother leading new product development, Barefruit began transforming these rescued fruits into wholesome, 100% natural snacks, free from added sugar, preservatives, or artificial shine. From solar-dried mangoes and pineapples to India’s first fruit bars, every product is made with honesty, care, and the warmth of the sun.

The impact speaks for itself. Barefruit has established over 875 decentralized solar drying units, empowering more than 70,000 farmers with a 30% increase in profitability. The brand has saved over 12,200 metric tons of food, prevented 26,850 metric tons of carbon emissions, and created 5,500 new jobs, including meaningful opportunities for 4,000 women in rural India.
